Virtually all brands face the threat of counterfeiting and gray market trading. But there are other supply chain challenges concerning the brand owner. The need to keep pace with interactive packaging technologies for consumer engagement is certainly one. At the same time, rapidly expanding global supply chains make it difficult to know exactly where their products are and if they are being sold by trusted partners as intended.

The transformations now taking place in the emerging field of connected packaging have the potential to address all these product challenges—protection, engagement, traceability—while delivering powerful supply chain insight.

In this webinar we will:

  • Compare available digital packaging technologies—their pros and cons
  • Discuss how connected packaging can elevate supply chain security with critical product data
  • Explore the possibilities of anti-counterfeiting via mobile engagement

Avi Chaudhuri, PhD

Senior Global Partner, Chief Scientist

Dr. Chaudhuri has fifteen years of experience in the field of serialization, traceability, and consumer protection from counterfeit drugs. His work in this field began when he became a victim of a counterfeit drug while traveling in India. He began to research all available technologies that could not only defeat this problem, but also empower consumers to verify the drug at the point of sale. His research and publication in CII’s highly acclaimed manual played a pivotal role in the implementation of a serialization program to protect drugs exported from India. Dr. Chaudhuri is a strong public advocate for the need to protect consumers through effective technologies. He introduced the very concept of serialization to the Indian pharmaceutical industry ten years ago and helped to create a national SMS program that allows consumers to verify their drug purchase.
