Join Behind the Scenes and LDI for the first-ever Mental Health Action Day on May 20th to learn about the tools and resources developed specifically for entertainment industry workers so you can take mental health action for yourself, a loved one, or a colleague. The session will provide an overview of the tools and resources for mental and emotional well-being developed by the BTS Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Initiative. These include the Entertainment Industry Therapist Finder, Be Scene-Be Heard peer-to-peer chat app, anonymous online self-assessments, easy to navigate resources, information and tools to help fight bullying and harassment, sample language on mental health and respectful workplaces for toolbox talks, virtual Mental Health First Aid Training, and information on the warning signs of suicide and the steps you can take to help keep someone safe. Trauma therapist Taryn Longo will explain how trauma affects the nervous system and provide concrete tools for self-regulation which are especially helpful during the uncertainties of the pandemic and in dealing with the anxieties faced by those returning to workplaces that look and feel very different than the ones they left.
