Scott Barnes

Scott Barnes has been programming lighting consoles for over 22 years, on more than 50 motion pictures. He moved to Hollywood from his hometown of Dallas in 1996, and quickly became a member of IATSE Local 728, which specializes in lighting and electrical crew for the motion picture business in the Los Angeles area.

Barnes is well known in the business as a forward thinker and uses his creativity to push new ideas in motion picture lighting and console programming. He was introduced to the Wholehog II console in 1999 and has been using Hogs for almost every movie he has ever done. He is an official trainer for Hog and an expert user of Vectorworks.

Having worked on a large variety of genres, Marvel Studios has been keeping Barnes the busiest for the past twelve years. He has been fortunate to have worked on 11 of their movies, starting with the very first one, Iron Man. He recently returned from New Zealand, where he has been working on the upcoming Avatar sequels.
